ALLAHABAD: A woman lost her life to unidentified miscreants while she was on morning walk in Shantipuram colony on Tuesday morning. Her body,found in bushes off the road, had all the jewelry including rings, gold chain and anklet missing.
Senior police officers including SSP Anand Kulkarni reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigation. Authorities are waiting for the detailed autopsy reports.
According to reports Seema (28) wife of Pankaj Gupta, resident of Shantipuram Colony, Phaphamau under Soraon police station lived with her in-laws. Her husband is area manager in a private company.
Her in-laws said that she regularly went for morning walk every day at about 5am. As usual she left home for morning walk on Tuesday while her in-laws, husband and five year son were sleeping. When she did not return the family members went on looking for her. At about 8am she was found lying in a pool of blood in bushes about 35 meters away from the house. They immediately rushed her to a nearby private hospital where the doctors referred her to TB Sapru Hospital. The doctors pronounced her dead at Sapru Hospital.
The family members immediately informed police following which CO Soraon, SP Trans-Ganga, crime branch team and sniffer dog reached the spot. SSP Anand Kulkarni also rushed to the spot and took stock of the proceedings.
As per autopsy reports, miscreants killed her for loot and dragged her body into the bushes as her jewelry was missing. On complaint of her father in-law, police registered a case against unidentified persons.
CO Soraon, Jitendra Giri said that a case of murder is registered with family members alleging loot in the incident. However, the way in which the blood stains covered by soil and body hidden in bushes, it raises questions. “We are investigating the case from different angles,” said Giri.
